Founded in 2014, Brandblack is a Los Angeles based brand that seamlessly integrates athletic functionality, fashion elegance, minimalist design and innovation.
David Raysse, the brand founder, comes from a long line of creatives. His father is Gilles Raysse one of the founding members of the fashion house KENZO and his mother Carole La Brie was the first african american model to grace the cover of Italian Vogue, and his Uncle is renowned french artist Martial Raysse. He attended Pratt for design. His first job from college was at Italian sportswear brand FILA where he designed such iconic basketball sneakers the Grant Hill II and the ‘Stackhouse’. He then came the youngest director at Adidas. Having grown up surrounded with such creative diversity and design education it was only natural for David to combine his love of design and fashion to create Brandblack.
Billy Dill, brand Co-founder joined the brand shortly after and re-defined it into its current balance of fashion and innovation. His varied background in the arts and fashion covers everything from design, retail, marketing and product development having worked for notable global brands such as NIKE and AGNÈS B.
